The teachers in the ACSD K-5 Reading Department are specialists in delivering reading interventions tailored to individual students' needs.  Arlington Central School District has provided training to all K-5 Reading teachers in Leveled Literacy Intervention through Lesley University, with facilitators trained by Irene Fountas and Gay Su Pinnell.  The Fountas & Pinnell Leveled Literacy Intervention is a short-term intervention, that provides daily, intensive, small-group instruction which supplements classroom literacy teaching.  Students are provided with engaging, leveled books to read, and fast-paced, systematically designed lessons.  You can learn more about LLI on the Fountas and Pinnell website.  In addition to LLI, ACSD K-5 Reading teachers are also gaining experience in delivering Orton-Gillingham instruction, as well as Fundations and Just Words as reading interventions.  Click on the icons below to learn more about these tools.
