Dr. Ellen McDonnell joins us after over 25 years in education. Most recently, Dr. McDonnell served as the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Technology for the Tuckahoe Union Free School District in Westchester County. Past positions include Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Pupil Personnel Services, Middle School Principal, and High School Mathematics Department Chairperson and Teacher. Dr. McDonnell is permanently certified in Mathematics, Music, and School District Administration. She sings in an acapella group and is a volunteer with FIRST Tech Challenge.

Mr. John Orcutt began as the Executive Principal at Arlington High School in July. Prior to coming to Arlington, Mr. Orcutt was a House Principal for two year and an Assistant Principal for seven years at White Plains High School. He taught social students at New Paltz High School. Mr. Orcutt studied at SUNY Cortland where he earned a dual BA in Anthropology and Secondary Social Studies Education with a minor in History and Master's Degree in Social Studies Education with a minor in History. He earned his Certificate of Advanced Study in School District and Building Leadership at SUNY New Paltz.

Mr. Miguel Suarez

Mr. Suarez has been a high school educator for the past twenty years, specifically in the field of mathematics. He began his teaching career at Jane Addams Vocational High School in the Bronx. He went on to become a founding teacher and eventually an administrator at University Prep Charter High School, also in the Bronx. As a teacher he also served as the Mathematics Department Head, Union Leader/Contract Negotiator, Head Dean, Girls Basketball Coach, and Boys Baseball Coach. As an administrator, he has held a variety of positions, including Testing and Programming Coordinator, Building Response Team Leader, and Professional Developer.

Dr. Donna Bolner graduated with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Geology from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. She taught for a few months in Texas before moving to Pasadena California and then New York to work as a staff geologist. She began substitute teaching at Arlington at the then Titusville Middle School while completing her teaching certificate at SUNY New Paltz. When LaGrange Middle School opened, she taught eighth grade earth science for 15 years. During this time, she earned her National Board Certification and was named a NYS Master Teacher in 2013.

In 2013, Dr. Bolner became an Assistant Principal at Union Vale Middle School. Due to downsizing when Arlington Middle School closed, her position at UMS was eliminated and she left Arlington to be the 7th Grade Assistant Principal at Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School in the Lakeland Central School District. In 2017 she transferred to Walter Panas High School as an Assistant Principal. Prior to returning to Arlington, Dr. Bolner earned her Doctorate in Instructional Leadership from Western Connecticut University. She is thrilled to return to Arlington as the House Principal for the Class of 2024.

Mr. Quaranto attended Arlington Schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. He has a BA from Mount Saint Mary in Childhood Education and Information Technology and an MS from Western Connecticut State University in Instructional Technology. He taught at LaGrange Middle School for 12 years. He has a Certificate in Educational Leadership from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. After serving as an Assistant Principal at Arlington High School last year, he has returned to LaGrange Middle School as an Assistant Principal. He lives in Arlington with his wife, three children and two Bernese Mountain Dogs. He enjoys boating, biking (pedal and motor) and spending time with his family.

Throughout her nearly 15 years in education, Ms. Laguerre has had the pleasure of wearing many hats – from working alongside students and families as a School Social Worker, to coaching educators.  In recent years, her work experience allowed her to expand her role and serve on the Newburgh Enlarged City School District’s Social Emotional Learning Team. In this position, she implemented district-wide initiatives with the goal of improving student achievement. Her most recent educational experience was working in Newburgh's Equity & Access Department as the Family & Community Engagement Coordinator. She worked closely with families to build their child’s educational capacity and development.
