Hello!

I’m Mrs. Smith. This is my first year teaching at Arlington Central Schools. Before this, I worked as a substitute teacher at Hyde Park Central School District. I attended Johnson & Wales University, Charlotte campus as an out-of-state student. A year later, I moved back to New York where I attended Monroe College New Rochelle campus, completing my Associate’s Degree in Business Admin with a concentration in Human Resources. I interned at Baruch College in the Labor Relations Department and then worked as an assistant in the Bursar’s office. My career took off after graduation. I worked as a Project Manager in Disaster Recovery and Construction for 6 years.  In 2021, I earned my Bachelor’s in Business from Mount Saint Mary College. For the last 4 years, I’ve been the sole owner of a resume writing business.

On its second year anniversary, Resumes Plus expanded - providing consulting services to small business owners and non profit organizations. I’m now licensed to teach Business and Marketing to grades 7-12 holding a Career and Technical Education Certification approved by New York State Education Department. A huge part of my teaching philosophy emphasizes soft skills building  and problem-solving. Much of my own success in business has been a direct result of taking up genuine interest in others, actively listening to identify their needs and providing creative solutions.

In my classroom, students have the opportunity to learn career readiness skills, trends and opportunities, goal setting and networking. Students will be able to identify with different management styles, types of business structures and resources available to grow and maintain a business. We will study modern  strategies used to effectively market products and services and so much more. 

When I'm not in the classroom, I'm planning my next vacation, hanging out with close friends and supporting my own two children with their studies and trainings.
