Degrees and Certifications:
I am happy to say that this is my 25th year teaching art at Arlington. I graduated with a B.S. degree in Art Education from Kutztown University and a Masters degree in Special Education from Western Connecticut State University. My husband and I have two wonderful children Tyler and Makenna. In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with my family, doing all kinds of artwork, gardening and playing golf.
As an art teacher, I will introduce students to different art forms, art history and techniques. My philosophy is not to grade a student on their artistic abilities but on their efforts and willingness to learn and try. Most importantly, I feel art should be used as a tool to teach and reinforce life skills. These skills include, but are not limited to, respect, responsibility, creativity, cooperative learning and problem solving. By the end of the school year, students will have learned many aspects of the world of art and be better prepared for a successful future.
