NYS Cell Phone Use Policy: Students Prohibited from Possessing Personal Smart Devices

Students are prohibited from possessing personal smart devices on their person from the start of the school day, on school grounds, until dismissal. Devices must be off and away in the student lockers, unless qualified by an exemption. This policy applies to all internet connected personal electronic devices, including but not limited to: cell phones that connect to the internet or a data network, smart watches, earbuds and headphones, tablets, gaming devices, any other internet-enabled or communication device. Methods for Parents to Contact Students During the School Day: To accommodate necessary communication, parents or legal guardians may use the following methods to contact their student during school hours while adhering to this policy:

School Office Phone: Parents or legal guardians may call the school's main office, and the office staff can relay messages to the student or call the student to the office to speak with their parent or person in parental relation. Parents may call the school at 845-486-4880 to reach the following offices:

After School Hours (3:00 - 4:00 PM), Dial Ext. 22132


Designated Contact Email: Schools will provide a designated email address for parents and legal guardians to send messages. These emails may be monitored by school staff who can then pass the messages on to the students. To contact the school via email parents may use the following email lms-office@acsdny.org

Written Notes: Parents or legal guardians can drop off written notes at the school's main office, which can then be delivered to the student by school staff.

Family ID registration for modified fall sports is open now through August 25. This registration is for fall sports ONLY. These sports include: Football, Girls Volleyball, Boys and Girls' Soccer, Boys and Girls Cross Country, and Girls Field Hockey.

LaGrange Middle School's Cram the Classroom drive was a huge success, thanks to the incredible generosity of school community! Students from the Community Service Club did an amazing job sorting and packing all the donations, which have now been sent to restock the shelves at Dutchess Outreach. Congratulations to Arlington HS senior Marcus Owens, who was awarded two Gold Medals from the National Scholastic Art and Writing contest! Marcus's artwork will be published in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards online gallery and his name will be added to their 2025 yearbook. On June 11th, he will be recognized in a ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York City. #arlingtonspirit
