Dear Titusville Families,
I am very excited to be writing to you to kick off the start of our 2020-2021 school year! As you are aware, this school year is already like none other that any of us have experienced. To be sure, we have experienced many challenges, losses and obstacles thus far in 2020. While there have been changes, challenges and loss, we cannot lose sight of the fact that there is significant opportunity to reinvent, reimagine and foster an even greater sense of community than we already have. We will continue to push forward and provide your children with a safe, equitable, child centered education.
On a personal level, I am not ashamed to admit that I have often felt overwhelmed and concerned about this school year. My daughter, Claire, will be starting Kindergarten in Arlington this fall and my wife and I have been wrestling with what the right choice is for our situation. We share the same questions, concerns and worry that I am sure you all have. While we have felt concern, we have also felt hope. We know that our child is in good hands and that the District is committed to ensuring that all children will grow and learn. We know that this will be a year of innovation and togetherness as we support one another.
As I have said to our staff time and again, this is also a time of commitment, dedication and community. All of our teachers, TAs, custodians, secretaries, School Nurse and everyone else that helps to make our school such a special place, have been working tirelessly to ensure that all of our families will receive the best education possible. I am confident that our staff will do everything in their power to give your children the education they all deserve.
Again, I would like to thank you all for the commitment to our community, our school and our children that I have seen time and again. We will work together to overcome any obstacles that are in our way. I cannot wait to see our students again and I know I speak for our entire staff when I say that we are ready to do what we do best in just a few short days!
All my best,
Rick Sutton, Principal
