Hello everyone! I am Mrs. Sanchez and I am excited to start my 13th year here at Overlook Primary School! (I taught 2 years of kindergarten when I first came to Overlook and this will be my 10th year in second grade.) I actually graduated from the Arlington School District (it seems so long ago!) and even attended kindergarten and part of first grade right here at Overlook. After high school, I headed to New Hampshire where I graduated from Dartmouth College with a bachelor's degree in Psychology, thinking that I would like to become a school psychologist one day. During my senior year of college, I took a work-study job as a teaching assistant in the college daycare center and absolutely LOVED working with the children there! After graduating from Dartmouth, I took a year to work as a teaching assistant to see if teaching was truly a career I wanted to pursue. I loved every minute of it! I obtained my master's degree in Early Childhood Education from Boston University where I had the opportunity to student-teach in both kindergarten and first grade. I also worked as a one-on-one aide in a second grade classroom before returning home to New York where I've been ever since. I am very excited to meet our new class and to work with all of you this year! 


My Mission For The Class:

I hope to help my students learn to work together as a community in an environment that is a happy, safe, and developmentally appropriate place to learn and grow. I want to foster a love of learning in all of my students that will last them a lifetime! Curiosity is a wonderful thing and I want all of my students to keep asking questions about how the world around them works!
