Currently, I am in my 20th year teaching life science here in Arlington! I believe that the middle school science program can be an enriching experience in which the students can be scientists investigating a range of phenomena. In addition, the students will begin to master organization skills, take personal responsibility for academic success, and work in groups to not only solve a problem but to effectively negotiate the complex social interactions which take place when working together. Ultimately, this course aims not only to educate the students with subject specific material, but to increase the students' awareness and appreciation for their surroundings.
