The Arlington Education Foundation "invests in educational excellence" by providing financial support to the Arlington Central School District in areas consistent with our mission. At this time, the Foundation's funding is directed toward 3 focus areas:
- Arlington's STEAM Labs
- The District Science Room
- Our Scholarship Program for Arlington Seniors
STEAM Lab Initiative
In 2016, the Foundation approved a proposal to provide funding to the District's STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) Labs. Labs have since been established in each of the District's K-5th grade school buildings. Over time, materials and equipment to support these labs have been funded. Stay tuned for information on the Foundation's support of Virtual Sandboxes for the labs.
District Science Room Funding
The Foundation also awarded $5,000 to the District Science Room. This special room is located in Arlington High School. This room allows elementary school students to take a field trip to learn more about science. The district's youngest students love it! Arlington High School juniors and seniors also benefit from this room as they are preparing and teaching lessons. What a great way for the older students to see what it is like to teach!
An annual program, made possible through the generous support of many individual donors and organizations, to recognize students with one of the Foundation's 40+ scholarships. To learn more.
In addition, the Foundation administers a program called 'Give the Gift of Education' (also known as the Thank a Teacher or Staff Member Program). This program serves as a way for families to honor special Arlington staff members by making a tax-deductible donation to the Arlington Education Foundation. The program runs year-end with special focus during the holiday season and at school year-end. The feedback from teachers and staff is overwhelmingly positive! Recipients of this 'gift' have shared with us just how honored they feel. To learn more.
