Office of Human Resources
-
The Office of Human Resources is dedicated to accomplishing the following strategic goals:
- Recruiting, hiring, and retaining the most highly qualified faculty and staff in support of the District's commitment “to the success of each child in a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment.”
- Promoting positive labor relations through collaborative problem-solving and open communication.
- Ensuring a safe and professional work environment that emphasizes mutual respect and maximizes effectiveness.
- Providing employment-related resources and information to employees in a timely manner.
The Arlington Schools believe that excellence in education cannot be achieved without educated, well-trained and highly motivated teachers and administrators. We also believe that a strong staff is a diverse staff, representative of a variety of national, regional, ethnic, religious and social heritages. Teachers joining the Arlington School District will find endless opportunities to practice their profession and to advance in it.
The Office of Human Resources provides direction to all District personnel functions. These include professional and classified staff recruitment, employment and retention; contract negotiations and administration; strategic planning related to the professional and classified staff; Civil Service and State Education Department compliance; and identifying and developing initiatives related to the ongoing organizational development of the Arlington School District.
