Former: I was an active volunteer for ASM, Beekman, and OPS/TIS, UVMS PTA's, ACSD Special Education PTA from 2016-2023 in the roles of President, Vice President, Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Grant Committee member, Secretary of ACSD Council of PTA's, and a member of the ACSD District Reentry Instructional Task Force, District Equity Team member, Union Vale Equity Book Study, Special Education parent member.

Why do I want to serve on the Arlington Board of Education:
I’ve had the privilege of serving on the Arlington Board since May 2024. As a mother, I understand the importance of creating an environment where all students feel valued, empowered, and prepared for success. With nearly a decade of volunteer leadership, I believe all students thrive when supported by those who are equipped, empowered, and held to high standards. I am committed to thoughtful, fiscally responsible decision-making that meets the needs of our growing community.

Volunteer Activities/Hobbies: Arlington Connect Community Engagement Community Chair.

In the fall of 2022, ACSD launched Arlington Connect, a community-led effort to bring the entire ACSD community together to develop goals and priorities to improve our schools and plan for the future. The program involved a series of eight community engagement sessions, electronic surveys, and a telephone survey.  

I was one of four community chairs for the Facilitating Team. We planned each of the community engagement sessions and reviewed the feedback from each community engagement session and each survey to compile a report for the Board of Education. The final report was submitted to the Board on December 12, 2023.   

In addition, I have been an active marching band and winter guard parent and volunteer for the past three years. Over the past 11 years, I have presented a "Making Your Own Beverage" demo at a number of schools thoughout the ACSD. 

Why do I want to serve on the Arlington Board of Education:
I was one of four community chairs for Arlington Connect (2022 - 2023), a community-led effort to bring the entire ACSD community together to develop goals and priorities to improve our schools and plan for the future. I am running for the board to continue this important work. I believe in education for all students and want to continue to strengthen an already strong school district to help move us forward by educating the next set of future leaders.

Education: Graduate of College of St. Rose (MS) and SUNY @ Geneseo (BS). Arlington High School graduate.  

Occupation: New York State Speech/Language Pathologist for 35.5 Years (Arlington Central Schools; Beacon City Schools; Utica City Schools)

24 Years in Arlington (retired June 2014)

Volunteer Activities/Hobbies: Volunteer for Dutchess Outreach; volunteered when my children participated in AHS Marching Band, Millbrook Swim Team, Boy Scouts.

Why do I want to serve on the Arlington Board of Education:
It’s been an honor to serve as an Arlington Board member for six years, and I’m seeking reelection to continue supporting ACSD’s commitment to excellence for ALL students, both present and future. I deeply value being part of such a dynamic, competitive, and well-managed district, where every student is recognized as an individual. I’m excited for the opportunities ahead to meet students’ needs and look forward to collaborating with our Superintendent, colleagues, and families to ensure everyone thrives.
