My name is Kristy O’Connell, and I am so excited to have joined the Arthur S. May community in the fall of 2022! I taught at Beekman Elementary for the 2021-2022 school year and on Long Island and Queens prior to that. I feel honored to be part of the Arlington School District. 2021 was my first year living in the Hudson Valley after relocating, and it has been an amazing experience that I hope to continue for the rest of my days! Having changed careers to teaching a few years ago from news production, I never take a day of teaching for granted. It is my passion, my joy, and gives my life so much purpose. It is my goal to give all of my students an education that they both value and deserve. It has been my pleasure to contribute to the ASM community! I am a proud contributor to the student equity and belonging club as well as the facilitator of the American Sign Language club.

Your children will probably describe me as the silly teacher who loves science, wears cat ears and sings all day - and I'm A-OK with that!
