I have been teaching Third Grade at Arthur S. May for 15 years.  I went to SUNY Cortland for my undergrad work,  and then Mount Saint Mary College for my Master's.  Some of my favorite things to teach in 3rd Grade are:  Multiplication/Division, writing Fairytales adaptations, Cursive, small group reading instruction, and book clubs.  I love our shared reading experiences with: Stone Fox, Because of Winn-Dixie, and James and the Giant Peach just to name a few!  Third Grade is filled with fun science experiences, hands-on math games/activities, and building our reading stamina! Third Graders will not only learn to read for enjoyment, but also learning how to read for new information.

I grew up in Pleasant Valley, and attended the Arlington school district.  I can still remember so many of my teachers, and they inspired me to become an educator. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.  I am an aunt to four awesome kids: Caden, Taylor, Dominick and Addision. In addition, I am a proud Godmother to two kids, Caden and Sophia.  We love going to the park, baking, and doing arts and crafts together. My dogs, Daisy and Maggie, love going for long walks on the Railtrail and the Walkway Over the Hudson. I have recently started taking yoga, and enjoy learning how to meditate.  During the summer, my favorite place to be is the beach!  There is nothing better than sitting on the sand listening to the waves and getting into a great book!!  If you were to look into my beach bag or on my dresser at home, you would find these genres: suspense, mystery, true stories, and health and wellness books.  It's important to always be reading and learning new things....no matter what age you are!
