Hello & Welcome to our class family! My name is Julie Shook and I am thrilled to be entering my 20th year of teaching. I attended The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY for both my undergraduate and graduate work. My first teaching job was in the North Colonie School District, in Latham, NY. I have taught grades 2, 3 and 4 and worked at two other Arlington Elementary Schools. The bulk of my teaching career has been in 2nd grade and I am so excited to be returning to the Arthur S. May community as a 2nd grade teacher. Second grade is a year of adventure, curiosity, discovery and independence. I look forward to our work together.
I live in Poughkeepsie with my husband, our two children (Gabriel, 14 years old & Emilia, 12 years old) and our dog, Kylo.
When I am not at school, I enjoy reading and collecting children's books, watching my children play sports, visiting the dog park, quality time and meals with friends & family, shopping at Target and drinking coffee!
