The District will use our new ParentSquare communication system to notify staff and families when schools are closed or delayed due to inclement weather. We will also use ParentSquare in the event of an early dismissal. Please read the following information carefully.

Closings/Delays

The superintendent consults with our transportation and maintenance departments, weather forecast services, and other school districts to make the best decision about delays and cancelations. Decisions on closing or delaying school will be made, if possible, by 5:00 AM to provide ample time for bus drivers and staff, many of whom travel significant distances to Arlington.

If a cancellation or delay occurs, staff and families will receive an email and a text message. You will no longer receive a phone call unless the text message cannot be delivered. Please make sure that the district has an up-to-date phone number for you to ensure that you receive the notification.

Early Dismissals

In the event of an early dismissal, we will send an email, text message, and phone call to ensure that you receive the message that students will be sent home early. 

Emergency Drop off Locations
To safeguard each child, please confirm with your school a single emergency drop-off location in the event of an early dismissal.  Please discuss this plan with your children.  When confusion occurs, it is not always possible to reach parents to confirm their child’s destination.  We need your help to ensure that every Arlington student is transported safely to the correct location.
