Mrs. Kimberly Handman

Mrs. Kimberly Handman a string teacher at LaGrange Middle School in the 
Arlington Central School District located in Poughkeepsie, NY. Under her 
direction, Arlington students have received several gold, gold with 
distinction and superior ratings at NYSSMA Majors and Music in the Parks 
Festivals. 

In the summer she serves on the faculty of Summer Strings where she teaches 
fiddle and orchestra classes. In the summers of 2005, 2006 and 2010 Mrs. 
Handman also taught at the NYASTA String Institute at Ithaca College. 

Mrs. Handman has been a guest conductor at All-County festivals in Orange, 
Putnam and Ulster County as well as the Vermont ASTA Day for Strings. 
From 2002-2009, Mrs. Handman directed an orchestra at The Stringendo 
Orchestra School of the Hudson Valley every Saturday morning.

Mrs. Handman enjoys playing the viola and the violin. She married into a 
very musical family and occasionally will play concerts with them as the 
Handman Family String Quartet. Outside of the "string world", Mrs. Handman 
enjoys playing with her two children, bicycling with her family, running, 
reading books, listening to music and eating at good restaurants. 

Kimberly Handman received her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the 
Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam and a Master's Degree in Music 
Education from the Hartt School at the University of Hartford.
