• SEAL OF CIVIC READINESS ELECTIVE COURSE CREDIT

Students who have taken an elective that promotes civic actions, skills, and mindsets can use their experiences in the classroom to earn credit towards the Seal of Civic Readiness. Upon successful completion of an approved elective class, students can make a copy of the Seal of Civic Readiness Elective Course Student Review and Reflection sheet. Students should complete the sheet based on their experiences in one elective class then submit using the Seal of Civic Readiness Elective Credit Submission Form.

Students can use the instructions on the sheet as well as the rubric provided to make sure they have completed the Seal of Civic Readiness Elective Course Review and Reflection sheet correctly. If students do not complete the assignment correctly, they will receive the assignment back with the rubric and comments as to what they can improve upon. Students can then resubmit for credit one more time. If a student is found plagiarizing their work in any way they will not receive the Seal of Civic Readiness credit and will lose the chance to resubmit their work.

Students can earn .5 points toward the Seal of Civic Readiness from the "Criteria for Demonstrating Civic Participation" column when tracking Seal of Civic Readiness points. Students can complete the Elective Course Student Review and Reflection for each elective that they have completed that qualifies and can earn the elective .5 points more than once.
