Student Athletic Council Information/Responsibilities

  • The Student Athletic Council serves as an advisory board to the Director of Athletics. The Council is comprised of athletes who are in both good academic and athletic standing at Arlington. These student athletes are recommended by his/her coach and selected by the previous year’s SAC. The Council assists the Director of Athletics on issues pertaining to the Arlington student athlete. The Council acts in a liaison-like manner to improve the communication between fellow athletes and the athletic administrator. The SAC meets once per month to discuss issues relevant to athletics. Arlington Athletes are urged to seek advice and/or guidance from the SAC in addition to Mr. Cring.

    The following is a list of responsibilities of the Student Athletic Council.

    • Promote sportsmanship in the interscholastic athletic program
    • Supervise financial accounts of all athletic teams
    • Act as a role model for fellow athletes
    • Mentor younger athletes
    • Speak with and advise middle school athletes
    • Assist the Arlington Athletic Booster Club
    • Assist in organizing the annual sports carnival
    • Report concerns from fellow athletes to the AD
    • Suggest improvements to the program base on the athlete’s prospective
    • Community Service
    • Support and promote the Friends of Jaclyn Program
