Welcome to Precalculus!
The content of Precalculus at Arlington coincides well with that of courses at colleges and universities around the country. The principal theme of this course is functions as models of change, and this theme is reinforced through the study of the following functions: linear, quadratic, exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric, polynomial, and rational. There will also be an introduction to vectors. Precalculus will serve to further your understanding of Algebra 2 topics, as well as provide an opportunity to explore new mathematical topics, such as extensive work with Trigonometry.
There is no Regents examination for this course. There will, however, be a 3-hour department-created final exam given in June. It will count as 20% of your overall grade.
